What Should a Test Test?

Animals gathered in the forest

To decide who was the best,

First they had to choose a test

To put all doubts to rest.

 

The Lion wanted to test roaring,

The eagle wanted to check flying,

The peacock said, "Why not dancing?"

The dolphin said, "I prefer diving."

 

The elephant said, "No one can trumpet."

The squirrel squeaked, "Can you crack a nut?"

The monkey was for jumping from tree to tree,

The whale insisted on swimming in the sea.

 

As the night turned to dawn

Everyone began to yawn,

They gave up the need for a test

All they wanted was some rest.
